  • On your Windows 10 computer, remove any previously installed security application before downloading the AVG Antivirus software.
  • Even if you have enabled the Windows Defender antivirus (built-in antivirus for Windows), disabled it to proceed with the installation of the AVG Antivirus software. 
  • Close all the running programs and open the default browser.
  • Go to the official AVG site and select the AVG Antivirus software that suits your Windows 10 64-bit computer.
  • You can choose either the AVG Antivirus Free or AVG Internet Security app.
  • Using the AVG Internet Security antivirus gives more protection to your device with added features compared to the free pack. 
  • You can enjoy the free trial for a limited period or get an annual subscription pack for prolonged protection.
  • After selecting the desired AVG pack, click the Download button.
  • In the pop-up window, specify the location to download the software and click the Save button.
  • Wait until the download is completed.
  • After downloading the AVG Antivirus software, go to the folder in which you have saved the setup file.
  • Otherwise, go to the Downloads folder.
  • Give a double-click on the AVG setup file to run the installation process.
  • If the User Account Control (UAC) dialog box pops-up, click the Yes button.
  • In the AVG Antivirus setup window, click the Install button.
  • Wait until the installation is completed.
  • Once you have installed the AVG Antivirus software, reboot your Windows computer.
  • Launch the AVG Antivirus software and click the Scan Computer button to scan your system data for virus-infected files.
