  • f the Firewall feature on the Bitdefender application keeps turning OFF, then check if your Windows system’s Firewall is enabled.
  • Two firewall programs running on one computer may cause unpredictable behavior such as crashes or connectivity issues. 
  • So, first, make sure that the Windows Firewall is enabled.
  • If enabled, disable it and check if this issue is solved.
  • Click the Start menu available on your Windows system’s taskbar.
  • Select the Control Panel option.
  • On the Control Panel screen, select the System and Security option.

  • The cause of this issue might be a missing service oi your Windows system. The Base Filtering Engine (BFE) service should be enabled to control most of the Windows Filtering Platforms. 
  • If the Antivirus problem is with the BFE service, follow the instructions given below to fix it.
  • Open the File Explorer window.
  • Select and right-click on the Computer or This PC option.
  • Click the Manage option in the context menu.
  • Now, select Services & Applications -> Services -> Base Filtering Engine.
  • Click the General tab.
  • Locate and double-click on the BFE option.
  • Select the Automatic option from the Startup type drop-down menu.
  • Now, click the Start command button.
  • Restart your Windows system and check if the Bitdefender firewall keeps turning off issue is solved.
  • If the Access Denied error message is displayed on your Windows system, open the Run command window.
  • Type the regedit command in the given text field.
  • Click the OK button.
  • On the registry editor screen, search the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BFE path.
  • Select and right-click on the BFE Key option.
  • Now, click the Add button.
  • Type the Everyone command in the given field.
  • Click the OK button.
  • In the Everyone section, enable the Allow Full Control option by clicking the checkbox beside it and click OK.
  • Restart your Windows system and check if the Bitdefender Firewall keeps turning off.
