Ccleaner Update Not Working

Fix: CCleaner Update Not Working

  • If your CCleaner fails to update to the latest version, first, restart your computer and rerun the CCleaner application.
  • The update fails if the publisher's name changes with a signing certificate.
  • The publisher's name and the name on the updated code signing certificate must be the same to proceed with the update within the CCleaner application.
  • You can resolve this issue by updating the latest version of CCleaner from the official site.
  • If you have installed the Malwarebytes Premium security application on your computer, the update failure may be caused by the ransomware protection module. Therefore, disable the ransomware protection module temporarily in the Malwarebytes Premium.
  • To perform this action, navigate to the Settings --> Protection --> Real-time Protection --> Ransomware Protection.
  • Toggle off the Ransomware protection button to disable the ransomware protection module.
  • If the problem persists, uninstall, and remove all the CCleaner related files from your computer and install the latest CCleaner version.

  • If the CCleaner Auto update is not working correctly on your computer, check whether the Automatic update feature is enabled on CCleaner.
  • If not, navigate to the CCleaner main page and select the Settings icon from the left side panel.
  • Select the 'Automatically check for updates to CCleaner' checkbox and restart your CCleaner.
  • Also, check whether the Important Updates or Emergency updater feature is turned on or not.
  • If it is disabled, the automatic update to the latest version of CCleaner will not take place.
  • Navigate to the Updates option in the CCleaner and select the 'Apply these updates automatically' checkbox in the Important Updates section.
  • Now, your CCleaner will automatically update to its latest version.
