Step-by-step instructions to install ClamAV.

  • If you wish to perform a private installation on a local shell account, then you can use an unprivileged shell account.
  • Build the following folder on your computer ./configure --prefix=/home/”xxxx”clamav --disable-clamav make; make install

Note: “xxx” indicates your home directory.

  • If you want to install the ClamAV on your system, then you need to run freshclam and clamd.
  • First, you need to create a special account for freshclam and clamd.

  • Make sure that you have downloaded the ClamAV software file.
