Internet Issue After Installing AVG
Sometimes, installing the AVG antivirus program on your computer may result in slowing down your network connection. The antivirus program may even block your Windows computer. In most cases, the slow Internet connection doesn’t occur only because of the AVG antivirus software installed on the computer. Consider the steps given below to fix the internet slow down after install AVG antivirus issue.
- Make sure that you don't have any other third-party antivirus software installed on your computer.
- Ensure that your Internet Service Provider has no issues.
- You can temporarily disable or stop the AVG antivirus program.
- Click the AVG icon on the system tray.
- When the AVG user interface appears, you can temporarily stop the AVG antivirus program.
- Now, perform a speed test of your Internet.
- If the Internet works fine after disabling the AVG antivirus program, the issue is with the AVG antivirus software.
- If the Internet is still slow, you have to run the network troubleshooter to fix the issue.
- Press the Start menu and click on the Settings icon.
- Go to the Troubleshoot tab and click on the Run the Troubleshooter option under Internet Connection.
- You can follow the on-screen instructions to fix the network issues.
- Restart your computer and router and check if the issue is resolved.
- If the issue persists, go to the web-based setup page of the router.
- Type the IP address of the router in the address bar of your browser.
- If you have set any speed limitations, change it.
- Make sure to save the settings you have made.
- If you are still facing Internet speed issues, uninstall the AVG program.
- You can uninstall the AVG program from the Control Panel or using the remover tool.
- Now, download and reinstall the AVG program from its official website to fix the internet slow down after install AVG antivirus issue.
