Reset ESET Antivirus Firewall

Follow the instructions given below to Reset ESET Firewall to the default settings.

  • Open the main screen of the ESET Firewall program.
  • Launch the Advanced Setup window by pressing the F5 key on your keyboard.
  • Select the Network protection followed by the Firewall option on the left side of the screen.
  • Select the Default icon beside the Basic field.
  • When the next window opens, select the Revert to Default option to Reset the ESET firewall to the default factory settings.

ESET Kernel Extension Required For Firewall Was Not Loaded

  • Remove the current ESET Kernel extension and then follow the Reset ESET Firewall steps mentioned below to approve it manually.
  • After downloading the SQL Command file, double-click it open. Click the Get info option.
  • When the subsequent window appears, make sure to note down the location of the downloaded SQL file.
  • Launch the Terminal window. Type ‘ls -l /Volumes’ without the single quotes in the Terminal window.
  • Check the drive name beside the symlink directing to slash sign (/). Make sure to note down the drive name. Navigate to the Apple menu and then click the Restart option.
  • While restarting your Mac computer, press the Command and R keys simultaneously.
  • Once you restart the computer in recovery mode, go to the Apple menu.
  • Click the Utilities option followed by the Terminal option. Enter the appropriate commands to approve the ESET Kernel extensions.

ESET Endpoint Security Personal Firewall Non Functional

When you see the ‘Personal firewall is non-functional’ error on the screen, follow the solutions provided below to resolve it.

  • First, try to update the ESET firewall to the newest version.
  • If you are not able to resolve the issue, reinstall the ESET Personal Firewall software.
  • Display the Run window by pressing the Win + R keys at the same time. Enter ncpa.cpl in the Run window and then select the OK button. Now, the Network Connections window is displayed on the screen. Right-click the network and then select the Properties option.
  • Make sure to checkmark the box beside the ESET Personal Firewall option. Select the OK button to close the Local Area Connections Properties window.
  • Launch the Clean my PC main screen of the ESET Smart Security program. Now, you have to press the F5 key on the computer’s keyboard to open the Advanced Setup window. In the Advanced Setup window, select the Antivirus option followed by the HIPS option on the left panel of the screen.
  • On the main panel of the Reset ESET Firewall screen, go to the Basic section, and disable the HIPS feature. Select the OK button at the lower-left corner of the screen. Check the network protection modules.
  • When you fail to disable the Network Protection status, perform the steps given below to disable it. After launching the Run box, enter ‘ncpa.cpl’ without the quotes.
  • Click the OK button in the Run box. Now, the Network Connections window displays on the screen. Select the Install button. In the Select Network Feature Type window, select the Service option followed by the Add button.
  • Select the ESET Personal Firewall option and then click the Uninstall button followed by the Hard Disk button. Go to the C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Smart Security\Drivers\epfwlwf location and then select OK.
  • In the Select Network Service window, click the Reset ESET Firewall option in the Network Service section. Select OK to close the Select Network Service window. Enable the HIPS feature and then restart the system.

ESET Firewall Blocking Internet

To download the ESET Antivirus Firewall software and install it on your Windows 8.1 system, read and proceed with the instructions given below.

  • Make sure to disable the SSL/TLS filtering temporarily.
  • Go to Internet Explorer, select Internet Options, and click the Advanced, disable all SSL and TLS versions and leave only TLS 1.2 selected option.
  • If you are not able to resolve the ESET Firewall blocking internet problem, Reset the SSL/TSL settings to the default settings.

Why ESET Personal Firewall Initialization Failed on Windows 10?

  • Use a repair tool to uninstall the ESET Personal Firewall software.
  • Once you have finished the uninstallation process, reboot the computer.
  • Reinstall the Reset ESET Firewall manually by following the on-screen prompts.
